Accessibility Statement
At Ancove, we are committed to making our website accessible to as many users as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We strive to ensure that our digital content is usable and understandable for everyone, including people with disabilities.
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA, and to meet the accessibility requirements outlined in SI 636/2023, the Irish transposition of the European Accessibility Act.
What we’re doing to support accessibility
We have taken the following steps to ensure accessibility:
- We regularly evaluate our website using automated tools such as Google Lighthouse and WAVE, complemented by manual testing.
- Content and Design Enhancements: We have improved heading structures, descriptive link text, colour contrast ratios, and keyboard navigation to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Standards-Based Development: Our site is built using semantic HTML and includes accessible form labels and responsive design principles.
- Continuous Improvement: We are committed to maintaining and enhancing accessibility in all future updates, including new content, features, and third-party integrations.
Known limitations
We are aware of a small number of areas where accessibility could be improved:
- Some images may still lack meaningful alternative text
- Certain visual elements may not yet meet minimum contrast ratios
- Some link text is currently too generic (e.g. “Read more”)
We are actively working to address these issues and welcome feedback from users.
Content exemptions
In line with SI 636/2023:
- Certain documents and media published before 28 June 2025 may not be fully accessible however we are working to update these materials.
